Recover Windows password with Offline Windows Password & Registry Editor
This turorial shows how to recover windows 7/Vista/XP/2008/2003/2000 password with Offline Windows Password & Registry Editor. This method can't rcover Domain account password. For recovering domain account password, refer to Recover Windows Server 2000/2003/2008 domain account password.

The following steps(1. 2. 3. 4. 5.) instruct how to recover windows password.
1. Download Offline Windows Password & Registry Editor and required software.
1.1 To create CD/DVD Windows password recovery disk, download this:http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/cd110511.zip
1.2 To create USB Windows password recovery disk, download this:http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/usb110511.zip
2. Write Offline Windows Password & Registry Editor to CD/DVD disc or USB drive.
2.1 Create CD/DVD Windows password recovery disk.
- 2.1.1 Unzipped the file cd110511.zip, and then you will get a iso file: cd110511.iso.
- 2.1.2 If you already installed CD/DVD burn software, you select Burn ISO option to burn iso file to cd or dvd disc. Or you can download CDBurnerXP, and then use it to burn iso file to CD/DVD disc.
2.2 Create USB password recovery disk.
- 2.2.1 Prepare a blank USB drive or backup files in USB drive before starting the following steps.
- 2.2.2 Unzipped all files in usb110511.zip to the root directory of USB drive.
- 2.2.3 Install boot loader to USB drive. Run command prompt (run as administrator if possible), type: X:\syslinux.exe –ma X: . X indicates your USB drive letter; remember to replace it with you USB drive letter.
3. Boot computer from Windows password recovery disk.
3.1 To set your computer boot from CD/DVD-ROM, follow the instruction at How to set computer boot from CD/DVD-ROM.
3.2 To set your computer boot from USB, follow the instruction at How to set computer boot from USB drive.
After setting computer boot from CD/DVD-ROM or USB flash drive, insert Windows password recovery disk and restart computer, and wait for Offline Windows Password & Registry Editor to startup.
4.Recover windows password.
The following instructions show you step by step to recover the Windows password.
4.1 When Offline Windows Password & Registry Editor startup run to following screenshot, type: d(automatically start disk drivers), and then press enter to go on.

4.2 When run to following screenshot, type 1( = show propbable Windows (NTFS) partition only ), and then press enter to go on.

4.3 At following screenshot, press enter to go on.

4.4 At following screenshot, type 1, and then press enter to go on.

4.5 At following screenshot, type 1 (- edit user data and password), and then press enter to go on.

4.6 At following screenshot, input a user name (now is Administrator), and then press enter to go on.

4.7 At following screenshot, type 1 (- clear (blank) user password), and then press enter to go on.

4.8 At following screenshot, it showed "Password cleared". Type ! to go on.

4.9 At following screenshot, type q and press enter to quit.

4.10 At following screenshot, type y and press enter to save change to file.

4.11 At following screenshot, type n and press enter to quit.

4.12 When come to following screenshot, we have successfully cleared the password to blank. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart computer.

5. Restart your computer and log on with blank password.
After logging on to your windows, you can change or set password for any user.
