Reset Windows Server 2000/2003/2008 Domain Password with Windows Password Rescuer Advanced
How do I change/reset domain password on Windows server 2008/2003/2000 when I forgot it? Nowadays, there are lots of methods can reset Windows password. But notice, most of these methods just can reset/recover Windows local administrator or standard user password. A workable method for Windows domain password reset is using Windows Password Rescuer Advanced.
This tutorial will show you how to use Windows Password Rescuer Advanced to reset Windows Server 2000/2003/2008 Domain(Active Directory) user password without losing data. All you need is a writable CD/USB Flash Drive. In additional, it also can recover Windows 2000/XP/VISTA/WIN7 or Windows 2000/2003/2008 local administrator password.
How to reset Windows Server 2000/2003/2008 domain administrator password.
Step 1. Download and install Windows Password Rescuer Advanced on an available computer and run it.
You can download Windows Password Rescuer Advanced trial version ( to view the user list and attempt to add new user ) or purchase the full version ( to reset unknown password and add new user ), and install it in any available computer.
Step 2. Run the software and use it to create a Windows password recovery boot disk with CD/DVD or USB Flash Drive.

To create a CD/DVD boot disk:
1. Insert a writable CD/DVD disc.
2. Select the CD/DVD burn drive which you insert CD/DVD disc to.
3. Click Begin Burning button to start burning.
To create a USB boot disk:
1. Plug in a writable USB drive.
2. Select the USB drive which you plug in USB drive to.
3. Click Begin Burning button to start burning.

Step 3. Insert the boot disk to your locked "server computer", boot the computer from CD/DVD-ROM or USB drive.

Step 4: Reset/change Windows server 2000/2003/2008 domain password by a few cliks.
If you want to reset domain administrator password, follow these steps:
1. After booting from the Windows password recovery boot disk, Windows Password Rescuer Advanced will start up and display a friendly window automatically. Select a Windows system you want to reset its user password.
Note: Windows Password Rescuer will list the domain Administrator and Guest account, other domain member accounts will not be displayed. Please refer to How to reset domain member account's password.

3. Select target user which you want to reset its password from the user list. Click Reset Password button to reset password and click Yes button to confirm your action when a confirm dialog box appears.

4. In order to meet the password policy requirement, Windows Password Rescuer Advanced will change the password to Hello@2011 by default. Please remember it.

5. Click Reboot. When following dialog pops up, eject Windows password recovery disk, and click Yes to restart.

6. Then you can log on Windows domain control as administrator with the new domain password Hello@2011.

How to reset/change domain common user(domain member) password.
You just need to click Add User, type your user name in the New user box and click OK when the dialog box appears. Then your domain user will appears in the user list and its password has been changed to Hello@2011 by default. Now you can click Reboot > eject your password recovery disk > click Yes to restart your computer.

If you are using Windows 7/Vista/XP for a domain user, the method of resetting domain password Windows 7/Vista/XP is the same as mentioned above.
